Batting 
Batting is available in various materials, each with its own properties and characteristics: 
Cotton: Offers a breathable, natural fiber with a nice drape. It's suitable for various quilting methods but may require closer stitching. 
Polyester: A synthetic option that's generally more affordable and durable, ideal for tied quilts and projects needing frequent washing. 
Wool: Provides warmth and loft, creating beautiful stitch definition. 
Blends (e.g., Cotton/Poly): Offer a combination of features, balancing warmth, durability, and ease of quilting. 
Other Options: Including bamboo, silk, and recycled materials. 
The choice of batting depends on the intended use of the quilt, desired look and feel, and quilting method.
